~~Rescue Me! Erotic Comedy Manga Has Anime in the Works~~

The September issue of Akita Shoten's Champion RED Ichigo magazine is announcing on Saturday that an anime adaptation of Yoshiharu Makita's Rescue Me! romantic comedy manga is in the works. The story centers on Masayuki Mizutani, an ordinary high school boy. His classmate Sayaka Shimizu lives in his home as a zealously intrusive maid, leading to uncomfortably erotic situations.

Makita launched the manga in 2008, and Akita Shoten published the second book volume last November.

~~Dance in the Vampire Bund Manga to End in Japan~~

The September issue of Media Factory's Monthly Comic Flapper magazine is announcing on Saturday that Nozomu Tamaki is ending his Dance in the Vampire Bund horror action manga in the next issue on September 5. The story follows the intrigue surrounding Mina Tepes, the princess of vampires who creates a special district for her kind off the coast of Japan. The next Monthly Comic Flapper issue will feature Dance in the Vampire Bund on the cover, and the manga's final chapter will have a color opening page.

Tamaki launched the manga in Monthly Comic Flapper in 2005, and Media Factory published the 13th book volume in March. Seven Seas Entertainment will publish the 13th volume in October, and the 14th English-language volume is already tentatively listed for release on May 14, 2013.

A television anime adaptation premiered in 2010, and Funimation released the anime in North America. The original manga also inspired a spinoff manga series call Dive in the Vampire Bund (Which is On Hold), and Seven Seas is publishing that in North America as well.

~~Nazotoki-hime wa Meitantei Shōjo Mystery Manga Gets Anime~~

The September issue of Shogakukan's Ciao magazine is bundling a DVD with a short anime adaptation of Mayuki Anan's Nazotoki-hime wa Meitantei (Princess Nazotoki Is a Famous Detective) manga on Friday. The story centers around Hinami, a bookish, eyeglasses-wearing girl, and her two friends. When there is a mystery to solve, she "transforms" into the clever Nazotoki-hime (literally, "Princess Mystery Time") .

Along with other videos, the bundled DVD includes the Nazotoki-hime wa Meitantei: Kaizoku no Takara to Komori-uta (Princess Nazotoki Is a Famous Detective: The Pirate Treasure and the Lullaby) anime. The anime continues the story from "Bōrei ga Sasayaku Shima" (The Island Where Spirits Whisper), the manga installment published in September issue. Ibuki Kido plays Hinami Shiori, Kaito Ishikawa plays Fujisaki, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka plays Umesaki, and AKB48 idol group member Haruka Ishida plays the guest character Kaiji.

~~Deadline: Sleeper Cell Creators to Write Live-Action Noir Series~~

The entertainment news website Deadline reported on Thursday that Sleeper Cell creators Cyris Voris and Ethan Reiff are now signed on to write the live-action television adaptation of the Noir anime. The Sleeper Cell series had aired on the Showtime network in 2005.

The original writer of the series, Steven Lightfoot, was replaced by Sean Jablonski in October 2011. At that time, Deadline had reported that Jablonski would act as the showrunner of the series. (The showrunner, as the Writers Guild of America puts it, is "in charge of pre-production, production, and post-production. In other words, everything.") Deadline does not mention if either Voris or Reiff will act as showrunner for the Noir series now.

The Noir live-action television adaptation was green-lit for the Starz television network last June. A year ago, Starz CEO Chris Albrecht had said that the show would air in summer 2012. According to Deadline, the project was put on hold after Jablonski replaced Lightfoot, but Deadline notes that the project "has already incurred some production costs, including building sets."

Executive producers Sam Raimi (Spider-Man, The Evil Dead, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, Xena, Priest, Legend of the Seeker), Bob Tapert (The Evil Dead, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, Xena, Legend of the Seeker), Joshua Donen, and Bill Hamm remain with the project.

~~At Starz's portion of the TCA Summer Press Tour on Thursday, Albrecht said the live-action project "ran into some creative challenges but…I'm very confident Noir will be on, just not sure when."~~

    ~~Persona 3 Film's Teaser Video Streamed~~

The official website for the upcoming film Persona 3 the Movie began streaming a 15-second teaser video for the film on Thursday.

The same footage was previously shown at the end of the Persona 4 The Animation -The Factor of Hope- film to announce that the Persona 3 film project had been green-lit.

Although the above clip shows 2D-animated footage, the June announcement of a film project and the official website do not explicitly note that the film will be an anime.

    ~~Kenji Kamiyama's 1st 009 RE:CYBORG Short Trailer Posted~~

The website of director Kenji Kamiyama (Eden of the East, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) posted the first short trailer for Kamiyama's upcoming feature film, 009 RE:CYBORG, on Saturday. The trailer has the first preview of the cyborg hero Joe Shimamura ("009," as voiced by Mamoru Miyano) calling out his signature acceleration ability.

The film, which is Kamiyama's first in full-3D animation, adapts Shotaro Ishinomori's classic science-fiction manga Cyborg 009. In the original manga, the secret Black Ghost organization transforms nine unsuspecting humans into cyborgs. However, the nine cyborgs turn on their masters and protect the rest of humanity from Black Ghost's plans for world war.

The film is slated to open in 2D and stereoscopic 3D theaters in Japan on October 27. The film will also open in more than five Asian regions simultaneously, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and South Korea.

Kamiyama is both directing and scripting the new film, and Production I.G and SANZIGEN Animation Studio are co-producing. Kamiyama already produced two 3D Pepsi Nex ads with Cyborg 009.

~~Ebiten School Otaku Comedy's Original Anime BD Ad Posted~~

Production company Kadokawa began streaming a commercial for the original anime Blu-ray Disc bundled with the Ebiten: Kōritsu Ebisugawa Kōkō Tenmon-Bu manga on Saturday. The limited-edition boxed set of SCA-ji and Kira Inugami's fourth manga volume will feature an exclusive 25-minute anime episode when it ships in December.

The manga and anime center around Itsuki Noya (played by Mariya Ise), a feminine-looking boy who wishes to join his school's astronomy club (tenmon-bu). However, Itsuki actually entered the similarly named Tenmon-bu — a club for female otaku interests.

SCA-ji and Inugami launched the manga in Kadokawa's Comp Ace magazine in 2008. The net anime version of Ebiten premiered via a live stream on niconico (formerly Nico Nico Douga) on July 14.

Inugami's other works include illustrations in the Seitokai no Ichizon (Student Council's Discretion) light novels and the mascot character for the card game division of the character goods maker Broccoli.

~~To Love-Ru Darkness Themes Sung by Ray, Kanon Wakeshima~~

Musical artists Ray and Kanon Wakeshima will perform the opening and ending theme songs for this Fall's To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness anime series.

Ray sang the opening theme "sign" for Waiting in the Summer (Ano Natsu de Matteru).

Known for her haunting mix of cello and vocals, Wakeshima previously performed the ending themes for Vampire Knight and Vampire Knight Guilty. She recently opened for Moi dix Mois at Sakura-Con in Seattle this year.

Atsushi Ootsuki is returning from the To Love-Ru television anime to direct To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness at Xebec, and To Love-Ru veteran Yuichi Ouka is also designing the characters. The television series will premiere this October. The manga will also ship with an anime DVD this month, followed by a second DVD in December.

Exclamation Anohana Movie in 2013 (Special News)

According to the official website, the movie of TV Anime Anohana (Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai, あの日見た花の名前を僕達はまだ知らない。) was announced and will be premiered in 2013. Directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai (長井 龍雪) who’s also the director of Ano Natsu de Matteru (あの夏で待ってる) and Toradora! (とらドラ!) , the series received lots of attentions. It was quite a surprise to see the movie announcement for the series since the main story was ended last Spring (of course, with a little inspiration of a second season or movie, as usual) and wonder what the director will bring to us. And of course, fans will be hugely disappointed if the movie turned out to be something like a roundup of the TV Anime and guess the company knows this too. However, as you can tell from the following illustration on the official website, the movie appears to retell the story from Menma’s perspective. So far no other information was revealed and we will keep you posted about the story.

~~Lychee Light Club Horror Comedy Manga Gets TV Anime~~

    Image

The official website of the Lychee Light Club (Litchi Hikari Club) horror comedy franchise revealed that a television anime adaptation will premiere this October. The title of the anime will be Litchi DE Hikari Club (Lychee DE Light Club). More details will be provided on the "Litchi Hikari Club Secret Base" website.

The story revolves around nine students at an all-boys school who create a god-like Lychee machine — that runs on lychee fruits — to seek out the beautiful women of the world. However, the machine eventually becomes self-aware "and is soon equally capable of measuring beauty and executing justice."

Usamaru Furuya's one-volume Lychee Light Club manga ran in Ohta Publishing's Manga Erotics F magazine from 2005 to 2006. The North American manga publisher Vertical released the manga in April 2011. The story already spawned a prequel manga and stage play.

An anime adaptation of Shūzō Oshimi's The Flowers of Evil (Aku no Hana) manga has been green-lit. Hiroshi Nagahama (Mushishi, Detroit Metal City) will helm the project, but no other details have been announced.

The "corrupt pure-love story" revolves around Takao Kasuga, a bookish boy who loves the poems of Charles Baudelaire (the original author of the poetry collection Les Fleurs du mal or Flowers of Evil). One day after school, he discovers and steals the gym clothes of Nanako Saeki, the girl he has a crush on. However, he learns that Sawa Nakamura, a girl he loathes, happens to catch him in the act. Nakamura blackmails Kasuga into a "contract," or else she will reveal his secret.

Oshimi launched the manga in the inaugural issue of Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in 2009, and Kodansha published the sixth book volume in June. Vertical will publish the third volume in North America in October.

In the original video anime (OVA), Kaori Nazuka will voice Tenri Ayukawa and Diana, Takuma Terashima will voice Ryō Asama, and Megumi Toyoguchi will voice Nora.

The new installment centers around the character Tenri, and will be bundled with a limited edition of the 19th volume of the manga, which is due out "around October 18."

The manga already inspired two television anime seasons, a prologue original anime DVD, and another original video anime DVD. Crunchyroll streamed both television seasons into several countries as they aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks licensed both seasons for North America.

Hinako Ashihara's Piece Shōjo Manga Gets Live-Action Show

Sand Chronicles/Forbidden Dance creator's story of woman uncovering shocking high school past

The October issue of Shogakukan's Betsucomi shōjo magazine is announcing on Thursday that Hinako Ashihara's Piece manga is getting adapted as a live-action television series.

The story begins a few years after high school graduation, when the main character Mizuho receives an unexpected phone call. She learns of the passing of a high school classmate named Haruka Origuchi. Haruka was a plain girl who did not draw attention, but Mizuho discovers to her shock that Haruka was pregnant during high school. Now, Haruka's mother wants Mizuho's help in finding the father of Haruka's unborn child.

Even as she assembles the puzzles pieces of Haruka's life, Mizuho fears delving too far in her past. Mizuho shared her first kiss with a boy named Hikaru Narumi in high school, and their lives may cross paths again.

Ashihara launched the manga in Betsucomi in 2008, and Shogakukan published the eighth volume in June. Viz Media published Ashihara's Sand Chronicles and SOS manga in North America, while Tokyopop published Forbidden Dance.

Gakuen Alice Manga's Last Chapter Being Prepared

Tachibana Higuchi's manga inspired 2004-2005 TV anime series; celebrates 10th anniversary this month

Manga creator Tachibana Higuchi (Portrait of M & N, Swan Lake) revealed via her Twitter account on Sunday that she was working on the layout for the first part of the final chapter in her Gakuen Alice magical school comedy manga. Higuchi then noted that she cannot say when the final chapter will be published in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine.

Higuchi launched the series in Hana to Yume in 2002, and she noted on Tuesday that this year's 19th issue of the magazine out on September 4 marks the manga's 10th anniversary. Higuchi added that she will be working on the final layouts for the last chapter this week.

Hakusensha released the 27th volume of the series (pictured at right) in Japan in June.

Tokyopop published 16 volumes of the manga before the company shut down last year. The company also published four volumes of Higuchi's earlier Portrait of M & N manga.

Gakuen Alice inspired a 26-episode television anime series in 2004-2005. Right Stuf released the series on DVD in North America.

The manga and anime revolve around a seemingly ordinary girl named Mikan who decides to enroll in a magical school to follow her best friend. Mikan strives to prove herself worthy of being in the school.

Program to premiere on premium WOWOW channel in early 2013

The actress and model Anne will play the role of Yuuko, while Shota Sometani will play the character Watanuki. The series will be directed by Keisuke Toyoshima.

A grave... news for all Oreimo fans.... Brace Yourself..

Paste Paste: As we are all waiting impatiently for the upcoming second season of TV Anime Oreimo (俺の妹がこんなに可愛いわけがない, Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai), the 11th volume of the light novel of the series indicates that the story will be ended in next volume. Guess fans will be thrilled by the news, especially to whom sent 500 threatening Emails to the author. The story is approaching the end, like it or not, we are going to see who will win, or both, which in that case would be a lame ending. Meanwhile, as the wraparound jackget of the novel also indicates, the second season of the TV Anime was announced a while ago while the airing schedule remains unknown. The last volume of the novel is expected to release next Spring, and guess the second season of the TV Anime could arrive some time soon after the end of the novel. Last but not least, calm down and let’s put up the same old question. What ending are you expecting for?
